Two rail track workers were killed on Thursday when they were struck by a train while working on the track between Sonnenberg and Mohringen in Stuttgart. The accident occurred on a 2-rail stretch of track, no immediate cause of the accident was speculated.

A worker was admitted to hospital in Suhl late yesterday afternoon with a severe head injury while cutting trees in Heubisch, Thuringia, with a chain saw, details of the accident and his condition were not known.

Kinderdijk miller dies in industrial accident

On Thursday police reported that a miller of one of the Kinderdijk windmills has died in a workplace accident, a neighbouring miller of the Overwaard windmill had noticed that there were no signs of normal activity and advised the authorities.
Crew of cargo ship rescued from Baltic

All 6 Russian crew members of the Gibraltar-flagged cargo ship, Phantom, were safely rescued from the Baltic after a mayday was issued when the ship began developing a dangerous list shortly after sailing from Oskarshamn, Sweden, for Morocco. The crew is recovering in hospital from hypothermia, having had little opportunity to don their survival suits, so rapidly did the incident develop.
